/ ART, PORTRAIT

Vincent

For this third portrait, I was beginning to believe my efforts didn’t totally suck, despite failing to achieve the natural-look effect I was aiming for.

In this case the hair was nearly totally black, aside from light effects coming through it, so I broke my own rule and used black watercolour. I think it worked.

The flesh-tones are maybe too soft, and could use a bit more shadow outside of the direct light.

I think there is too much detail, and I should strive for getting the right overall appearance with fewer strokes.
