A second attempt at portraiture turned out a little better, with some saying they could recognize him. I’m still not convinced however, since he only vaguely looks like this.

Flesh-tones are hard, as you can see from the too-orange hand. I’ve since purchased some alternate reds and yellows, but the trick is a very dilute mix to let the white paper show through. Hair is also a challenge for me still, requiring an inordinate amount of strokes to get the right texture.
