This is another in the series of portraits of colleagues - those poor guinea pigs of my retirement art hobby.

I wanted to loosen up on the detail a bit this time, which means drawing and painting in the style of an artist instead of a draftsman. A sad fail of course.

I definitely prefer watercolour over ink outline, compared to just watercolour. It has more of the Beatrix Potter flavour, which is, I guess, the effect I'm aiming for.

I made another trip into Bern today to practice 'en plein air' painting. It rained.

So I started my self-appointed Stadtkünstler (city artist) odyssey: painting 'en plein air' in the Bern Altstadt, because no one else would want the job.

I did another practice round of my 'city artist' fantasy by painting 'en plein air', again, just down the street.
